The Attack on Medics

The funerals of eight Palestinian Red Crescent medics were held yesterday (1st April) after being found killed and hurriedly buried under rubble following an attack by Israeli forces on the clearly identified vehicles they were traveling in near Rafah.

The eight trained rescue workers, along with seven other civil emergency staff—all killed—were responding to emergencies in Gaza.

According to Associated Press, this was the “deadliest attack” on Red Crescent medics in eight years.

The Human Toll in Gaza

The Gaza death toll has now passed 50,400, including thousands of children and women. And many more thousands have been left injured or orphaned. Life in the Gaza “war zone” is becoming increasingly difficult, with even fewer aid lorries getting into Gaza.
